Today is the one hundredth birthday of Edmundo Ros who led a small South American band in a night club in Mayfair when he was much younger. I have called him a virtuoso but cannot remember what he played. Pehaps it was the Camel's Stomach an undemanding instrument that he led from the front.

The weekend before I joined the RAF at 18 years old, my Father took me to London where we saw three Theatre Shows and one night we went to the "Savoy Grill" after the show,"Danny Key",and another nighht we went to the "Coconut Grove", and saw Emundo Ros, I don't think he played any instrement, but sang while conducting.A great evening, over 60 years ago
